The original Buddy Belt dog harness was designed and prototyped in Toronto, Canada in 1997 by company founder and CEO, Roxanne Pettipas. Inspired by and named after Pettipas’ miniature dachshund, Buddy, the Buddy Belt officially launched in 2001 at Toronto’s annual PET Expo.

The unique low-cut design cradles and moulds to your dog’s chest, minimizing pressure on the neck and spine to prevent damage to the trachea. This comfortable harness fits around the front legs and fastens over the back with just one buckle. Each harness is hand-crafted from top quality material to form a sleek, streamlined, and durable product.

Buddy Belts are available in a rainbow of colours and come in a variety of sizes to fit all dogs, from teacup and toy to standard. All Buddy Belt harnesses should be worn with a snug fit for maximum comfort and mobility, with optional soft leather liners available for sensitive dogs. Other Buddy Belt products include: ID collars, leashes, and couplers.

Handcrafted from genuine leather

Double-layered, glued, and stitched for maximum durability

Assembled using solid metal hardware 

Easy-to-use single buckle

Unique design sits low on the chest to reduce choking and  pressure on the neck and spine

Available in 12 sizes, with five size settings on each harness to ensure a perfect fit

Floating O-ring moves with the leash while the harness stays firmly in place

2. BB Leash: All-Leather & Leather Accent

All-Leather: Reinforced leather handle, leash body, and clasp-end

Nylon & Accent Leather: Reinforced leather handle and clasp-end, quality webbing leash body

Leather parts are double-layered, glued and stitched for maximum durability

Handcrafted with welded metal hardware

Available in 4’ length

Available in 1/2” width to be worn with BB harness sizes 1 – 4, and 3/4” width for sizes 5 – 10

3. BB ID Collar

Leather ID Collars are made to match your BB Harness

BB ID Collars allow you to remove your Buddy Belt without removing your dog’s ID tags

Double-layered, glued, and stitched leather with welded hardware for increased durability

4. BB Liners

BB Liners are extra-soft leather pads that Velcro onto the BB Harness leg loops. BB Liners offer extra comfort for sensitive dogs or are simply used as added comfort until the BB Harness softens and forms itself to your dog’s shape

Individual BB Liners sizes are designed to fit its corresponding BB Harness size
