Our Story

Buddy Belts (a division of Class Art Productions Inc.) is a Canadian company that creates high quality, premium leather pet products - most notably, our famous Buddy Belt harness. The Buddy Belt has made an impact with pet lovers across the globe due to its unique, patented design that offers a safer and healthier alternative to traditional neck collars.

The Buddy Belt harness' signature low-cut design sits low on your pet's chest, completely avoiding their neck and throat to prevent damage to their trachea. Sleek and minimalistic yet strong and durable, the Buddy Belt is where fashion meets function. Buddy Belts are made from genuine leather in an ever-evolving line of colors and are available in 13 sizes to fit dogs of all shapes and sizes. Also available is the new BB Sport line launched in 2021, made from weather-resistant neoprene.

Roxanne Pettipas is the CEO & Founder of Buddy Belts. She created the first Buddy Belt harness in 1997 when she noticed her miniature Dachshund, Buddy, was coughing when they went for walks. Employing her years in art school, as both a student and teacher, she thoughtfully designed a harness that would not only keep Buddy safe and comfortable, but that would be easy to use, long-lasting, and stylish. The result is the Buddy Belt harness that has been beloved by pet owners around the globe for over 20 years and counting.

Come by the Buddy Belts booth in the Canadian Pavilion ( booth B50 ) to meet Roxanne & her partner Johnny, learn more about Buddy's story, and discover the extensive product line that one little dog inspired!
