What expectations do you have for Zoomark, being held in person?

We are keen to be there, despite the complications of the period. Zoomark is a milestone for the pet industry, it is a very important focal point for companies every two years. I hope attendance will be good, but I also appreciate that there are issues that have not yet been resolved. My hope is that the scenario will change completely between now and November. Vaccines, the arrival of the summer and advancements in treatment could lead to real progress: the key thing is that we have to look and move forward, safeguarding ourselves and never overlooking preventive measures.

The whole pet industry has seen an impressive increase in sales. Will this growth continue in 2021? And after that?

Last year went well, in terms of sales, but we mustn't be over-optimistic: the cost of raw materials, packaging, and transport is going up. The sector is strong, but we need to be vigilant, as suppliers will try to put their prices up. Consumption will be affected in part, and we are expecting to see a drop in the average spend per customer visit in stores, with slightly cheaper products being preferred. As far as I have heard, in 2020 there was an increase in the number of dogs and cats nationwide, which in any case will translate to greater consumption, so an increase in volume.
