Euflance

Euflance is an innovative patented functional ingredient for the management of digestive disorders and enteropathies developed and tested by a spin-off of the University of Bologna. It is a mixture of powdered Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) and essential oil of Palmarosa (Cymbopogon martinii) with a high geraniol content, which in in vitro(1), in vivo (on a mouse model of colitis(2)), and in human clinical trials(3,4) has proven to be an excellent support in the management of gastrointestinal tract disorders such as bloating, diarrhoea or constipation and abdominal pain. The correlation between chronic enteropathies and alterations in the intestinal microbiota, known as dysbiosis, is becoming increasingly evident. Euflance, with its eubiotic properties and all-natural ingredients, has demonstrated the ability to improve the composition of the intestinal microbiota. This is achieved by increasing the biodiversity of the intestinal microflora, selectively inhibiting the proliferation of potentially pathogenic microorganisms that, if excessive, can lead to dysbiosis and inflammatory phenomena related to enteropathies. Palmarosa essential oil has demonstrated marked anti-inflammatory and beneficial activity towards the intestinal microbiota. Ginger has been used in traditional medicine for centuries for its eupeptic, antiemetic and anti-inflammatory properties. They both are GRAS-rated by the FDA and classified as safe by EFSA's 'Scientific Panel on Additives and Substances or Products used in Animal Feed' (FEEDAP).
