THE ITALIAN PET MARKET CONFIRMS ITS RESILIENCE
In 2022 the Italian pet market confirms its growth, recording positive value trends, albeit moderate compared to the strong increase in 2021, in all its segments: from dog and cat food (+0.8%) to food for other animals (+5.6%) and accessories (+3.2%).
The trend shows how pet owners have, once again, absorbed the price increases by safeguarding their pet's wellbeing, paying more and more attention to products with a high added value.
Indicative of this healthy market is the turnover developed last year by dog/cat petfood: 2,759.5 million euro for a total of 673,449 tons sold through the Grocery channel and the Specialised channel, made up of Traditional Petshops, Petshop Chains and Petshop GDO.
