The well-being of pets, true members of the family, represents the new frontier of tourism.

Pet wellness is establishing itself as an exclusive opportunity, capable of meeting the growing demand for premium experiences designed for the well-being of the entire family, including animals.

To offer truly top-notch hospitality, it is essential to design solutions that take into account the needs of both people and animals: comfortable environments, dedicated spaces, and attentive organization are key elements to guarantee a positive and harmonious experience for everyone.

Another crucial aspect is health: knowing in advance about potential health risks related to the destination—such as epidemics or seasonal illnesses—allows for preventive measures to be taken, safeguarding the well-being of the animals.

Finally, deeply understanding the specific needs of pets—from nutrition to hygiene, from relaxation to activities—enables the creation of truly tailored vacations, where every family member can feel pampered.

Update on the regulations regarding the safety of all products and the responsibility of those who place them on the market, including online sales.

As of December 2024, new obligations are in effect for those who market any type of product/accessory, starting with a risk analysis and the drafting and communication of technical documentation that demonstrates the safety of the products for their placement on the market.

The intervention will therefore focus also on the interpretative and applicative aspects of the regulation, presenting, for example, the most recent cases that have involved operators, who have been called to respond for the safety of their products and the adequacy of the warnings used on labels.

Massage for pets is an increasingly appreciated resource for its positive impact on physical and emotional well-being. It promotes muscle relaxation, improves circulation, reduces stress, and strengthens the bond between pets and owners.

In addition to the conscious touch, the environment in which the animal lives plays a crucial role: pet architecture focuses on designing functional, safe, and relaxing spaces that support behavioral and psychophysical well-being.

An integrated approach, combining manual techniques and design, represents an evolved frontier in pet care, always in compliance with veterinary guidelines.

A scientific study into the benefits of ProteinX insect meal for dogs’ skin barrier and antioxidant defences heralds good news for dogs.

The results reveal that incorporating ProteinX (insect meal from Protix) into the canine diet improves the skin barrier function, which is essential for maintaining hydration and overall skin health. ProteinX in the diet can also result in a stronger antioxidant defence system. This is particularly crucial for animals suffering from skin problem, and is also vital for maintaining overall health, organism functions, and the prevention of premature ageing of the body’s cells.

The new study brings promising opportunities for manufacturers to market positive health claims, with a nutritious and sustainable diet that is naturally palatable.

In recent years, the figure of the groomer has gained significant importance in the Italian professional landscape, thanks to the joint efforts of CNA and FNT.

This seminar will present the results of a strategic collaboration that has led to concrete achievements of great relevance for the sector. Among the main successes: the Draft Law 597 on the regulation of grooming activities, the update of professional standards in several regions with the official inclusion of the "groomer" profile; the renewal of the National Collective Labor Agreement on May 20, 2024, which for the first time includes a specific classification for grooming professionals; and the introduction of the new ATECO code 96.99.12, effective from April 1, 2025, which recognizes grooming as an autonomous and distinct activity.

These steps represent a historical evolution for the category, strengthening its value, visibility, and protection, and opening new growth prospects for all industry operators.

The event is organised by The HAD Human Animal Design®

In a rapidly evolving sector like the pet industry, it is essential to design not only for the needs of animals but also for those of the people who care for them.

This presentation will explore the innovative CZ® approach in the design of spaces, products, and services, integrating ethology and cognitive zoo-anthropology to promote a more empathetic and mindful coexistence between humans and pets.

Through case studies and practical examples from the Pet Design course at Poli.design consortium of Politecnico di Milano, the event will encourage reflection on how design can evolve to meet the emotional, psychological, and practical needs of both parties.

The cat litter market, between mineral and plant-based products, is characterized by a competitive scenario that brings complex issues to the table, including environmental sustainability and the fight to reduce VAT rates, following recent rulings from authorities that have standardized the tax treatment of all products, based on the principle of intended use.

What is the current state of the art? How are companies and associations moving to enhance their products? What relevant initiatives are there to promote conscious consumption? And what do cats think about it? What behaviors or attitudes do they have towards different types of products?
